220 is LOVELY - it's used for the felted Noni bags

Fixation is very stretchy - perfect for making socks that hug your foot. (sport socks)

I've only used 220 and it felts very well!

I made the Husband a scarf out of the 220--he loves it! And there's enough left to make him a hat. I've got a few more skeins of it...just trying to figure out what it wants to be.

I love Lambs Pride Worsted. It is much softer than 220 and comes in a wider variety of colors. I wouldn't use 220 for a sweater or anything like that, it's not soft enough. The Bulky is soft as well. The worsted is one of my standby yarns.

Sierra is a cotton with a bit of wool. I used it once and is good for light weight cool things. There is no fuzz to it. It says hand wash (I think) and definately to dry flat but I've had no problem running it through the washer and drier in a garment bag. But if you use it test wash and dry a swatch a few times to check shrinkage.
I really like Lambs Pride better than cascade 220. The mohair softens it up a bit. But cascade 220 is nice if you don't want a fuzzy halo. I've only used fixation to make a small wedding garter. It was soft and nice, working with a stretchy yarn is tricky.

Wow I can't beleive I was actually able to give you an opinion on all those yarns.

Just my own personal preference, I don't like 220 or Lamb's Pride for next to skin sweaters, but like the 220 a little better for that just because mohair makes me itch and Lamb's Pride has mohair in it. It also is more a pilly type yarn being single spun, I think. I think the 220 superwash is a bit softer. Of the ones you mentioned, I like Sierra best. I don't do any felting, but I bet the wooly ones are good for that. Esp. Lamb's Pride, many people really like it for that.

I really like knitting with Cascade 220. I have made a number of felted items with it.

Sorry to disagree but Lamb's Pride is not on my list of favorite yarns - it sheds too much and the mohair in the yarn really bothers me.

This is funny. I didn't get very much, if any, shedding with Lambs Pride. I guess it depends. I did find however that 220 pills.
