I just started a top-down raglan cardigan last night, and the pattern does not include any schematics. I have placed markers for LF and RF and four other markers for the sleeves and the back. I began increasing as instructed, before and after each marker on each RS row and in the first and last stitch of every RS row for the specified amount. The next instructions read:

Continue St st and increasing before and after markers until raglan portion of the sleeve measures X inches. The raglan measurement is taken from the neck, down the diagonal line the increases made, to the underarm.

My response is, WHAT??? WHERE exactly am I supposed to measure? The best I can illustrate it is like this -- and this is an approximation of the first and current rows. It's not to scale -- I'm doing this with children screaming loudly for my attention.

XAXBXXXCXXXXXXXXXDXXXEXFX

XXXXAXXXXXXBXXXXXXXXXXXCXXXXXXXXDXXXXXXEXXXXXXFXXX X

Now -- is the raglan measurement from B to B and E to E? Or somewhere else?

Thanks!!
