I'm looking for an EASY pattern to knit mittens for a 4 yr. old. In all the knit books I have there are none. I appreciate any help.

There is an EASY children's mitten pattern in this book:
Knit Mittens (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/1580174833/sr=8-1/qid=ARRAY(0x5df20648)/ref=cm_cr_dp_pt/104-5186186-8425551?ie=UTF8&n=283155&s=books&qid=1173294758&qid=1173294758&sr=8-1Knit)

It doesn't get much easier than this one.

This one is free and very easy. Be sure to download the .pdf pattern because the html version you see when you click on the link is hard to understand (it's a table rendered in text form and, well, it's not working too well).
