I'm currently making socks for either DH or myself I haven't desided yet but I'll have enough yarn left to make baby socks or so the sales clerk told me. I'm using Austermann Step yarn, it works like a dream especially for a beginner or at least this beginner. I'm working on size 2.5 dpns and I'm almost at the heal.

I have no clue how to modify patterns to make them much smaller. I know I have to reduce the number of stiches and I can handle the foot length and the part from the top of the sock till I get to the heal, but the heal, instep and toe????

I would be more than happy with a completely different pattern than the Patons one I'm using.

Hi there! I just finished two pair of tiny socks for a future grandson. You can look at knittingpatterncentral.com under baby items and then the sock category. There are lots of patterns there! samm
