Another snake here. After doing a little more looking, it seems I'm a fire snake.

Edit: HanAku saying she was an Earth Horse on pg. 3 got me curious, so I did some looking around to find the elemental stuff too -- it's here. (http://www.tuvy.com/entertainment/chinese_horoscope.htm)

I'm horse. I was told when I was in Korea that asking your zodiac was also a more polite/clever way to ask your age. Since you have to go 12 years before a repeat, once you knew what sign someone was, you could guess pretty well what year they were born in.

Hey Silver! I'm a Year of the Rat too! I married a monkey, so we're very compatible.

One son is a snake and the other a ram, but we've always thought that maybe the descriptions for these guys were reversed. I'm not sure who I need to address the correction to though.

People born in the Year of the Rabbit are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They are clever at business and being conscientious, never back out of a contract. They would make good gamblers for they have the uncanny gift of choosing the right thing. However, they seldom gamble, as they are conservative and wise. They are most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog.

I was born in the year of the Snake 1977, and more specifically I am a Fire Snake born in the hours of the Rat

My husband was born in the year of the Rabbit 1975, and is a Spring Wood Rabbit.

The joke around our house is that the Snake eats the Rabbit and Fire consumes wood :) So just guess how our relationship works out :) lol

When you figure in your western astrological sign, you really get to know yourself!

The Ram is a part of the Western Zodiac, and not the Chinese Zodiac :)

You may not be a true ram. If you were born within 6 days of what we traditionally call the 'ram' you may actually be a pisces instead of an Aries. If you were born within 6 days of the the change from Ram to Taurus, you may by more of a Taurus. The signs do not move into the next sign on the exact day mentioned in books.

You may also want to look into your ascendant which may explain more about who you are... I know mine does!

How do you figure out the "fire" or "earth" parts? EDIT: N/M found it. I'm a Water Pig. Funny, the Western Zodiac sounds much more like me than the Chinese--I'm a Leo. Stubborn and loud.

Newbieknit, Christy was right...Year of the Sheep/Ram. Same thing. Just like I'm Pig/Boar.

Everyone born in January should RECHECK your Animal. The Chinese Zodiac is based on the CHINES NEW YEAR. There actually no set date for the chinese new yaer because it's based on the moon and other solar things. But it's usually late january early february ( chinese new year for 2007 is February 18 ). So of example here in the US a new year starts jan 1 not so for chinese new year which is different every year but around the same time depening on the moon. Both my sisters are born in January and for the longest time the thought they were a monkey and a tiger but if you base it on the chinese new year they actually turned out to be a sheep and an ox. I was Born in Dec and i'm a dog. woof woof :teehee:

Confused :?? For example, if you were born january 1980 you would actually look at the animal for 1979. US year starts January ends in December. Chinese year (for zodiac purposes) starts February ends in January.
