I'd like to make the tidal wave socks :http://www.soysilk.com/mrcfiles/mrc-patterns/tofutsies-patterns/tofutsies-tidalwave.pdf I just got a lovely set of tofutsies yarn but I'd rather do them on DPN. Is there anything I should do differently?

I think the only difference will be how you divide up and manage the stitches.
You should probably put the stitches on three needles in the beginning: 16, 16, and 32.
When you do the heel, put the 16 stitches on 2 needles onto one needle, and that will be the heel needle.
And then when you pick up the stitches from the heel, you should pick up the first set of stitches with the needle the heel is knitted on, and use a third needle to pick up the stitches on the other side of the heel. Then knit and redistribute so that each of the two needles with the picked up stitches have the same amount of stitches on them.
I hope this is helpful (and correct!)
P.S. Thank you for directing me to this pattern! I want to make these socks, too!
