If you guys had to build a collection of needles, etc, and you could buy them at JoAnnes, what knitting needles would you buy- size or brand, I figure a 50% off coupon has to get me something decent? Maybe!

Cheers,
K

well if that was where i was buying from, and i didn't have any ....ahem.... "options" ;).... i would buy the Boye interchangeable set.

that was, after all, my first set of interchangeables.

I already ordered the options :happydance: - I meant like Clover or sizes that are popular on other needles, not necessarily circs!!!! :teehee:

oh well in that case then i would buy some 16 inch circs but the coupon is only good for 1 item so i would likely figure out something "big" like a swift or a ball winder to use the coupon on.

You might be able to get some decent bamboos.

What is a swift? Is 16 inches the size of the needles or the lenght of the cord, brendajos? Thanks!

A swift is something you lay the hank of yarn over so you can wind it into a ball. They look like this - http://joann.com/search/search_results.jhtml?CATID=3&keywords=swift&_requestid=175870. A wooden chair back works very well too. Circular needle size is measured from tip to tip, and may not be exactly the same; metric sizes can be different than inches by an inch or so.

I'd get Clover bamboo needles. They are high quality.

I got both my swift and yarn winder from JoAnn's with their 50% off coupons. Great deal and I LOVE THEM!!!
