View Full Version : Make my pattern bigger?

Hello all. I am a bit of a newbie to knitting, and I need some help. I have a pattern that uses purl stitches in the middle to form a "picture" of sorts. The pattern I have makes a small item. If I wanted to make is 4 times bigger, would I be correct in assuming that I could do 4 of each stitch, and 4 of each row to achieve this?
I appreciate any help with this.

You would prolly have to play around with thicker yarns and bigger needles in order to get it bigger.. it seems like your idea should work.. but I'm just not sure.. :rofling:

Thanks. Well, I'm going to try it first with some left over yarn I have, and see how it works. I'll let you know! -k

Another idea would be to put the design on graph paper with your added stitches and rows -- to see if it still looks like the same design.
