View Full Version : Double knitting, or, a story of a blanket

I found out a couple of weeks ago that one of my friends is expecting, and I remembered a pretty blanket pattern from knitty, but didn't remember much about it. When I found the pattern again (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall03/PATThoover.html) I was a bit intimidated by the thought of double knitting. I made a little swatch last night, and I LOVE double knitting! It took a few rows to get used to it, but once I got it, I couldn't put it down. :happydance:

Has anyone else made this blanket? I'm going to look for a baby-friendly yarn to make it with. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I also LOVE double knitting
I have made a few reversable hats
and I like taking the textured DishCloth patterns and doing the doubled
I have seen this pattern, and am planning to make it in Acrylic for my xGFs daughters baby
doing a simple Yelow and green with a heart leafed clover in the center
I just need to get the graph paper out

That's a great idea! I didn't even think about putting a design in the middle of it, but I really like the idea. Genius!
