Once you do the heel turn you'll have 8 stitches on 2 needles and 20 on waste yarn. Once you pick up the gusset stithces you'll end up with 48 stitches on the needles.....so you actually will have 8 extra stitches. You'll work the Round 1 & 2 in the gussett section which will create decreases back down to 40 stitches before you continue on with the foot.
Does this help?

Charmed Knits is the name of the new HP Knitting book and it is great! So many fun patterns! I just got it about two weeks ago and totally recommended it!

Just as an FYI... i went to B&N to get my charmed knits book and it wasn't anywhere to be found in the knitting section. I asked at the counter to see when they were getting them and she said they were already in but in the Children's section.
When I suggested that she might want to put some in the knitting section she looked at me like I was crazy and said "THIS is where they GO." then she turned and walked away. I really was amused and somewhat befuddled at her reaction and apparent lack of "cross marketing" skills (if it can really be called cross marketing since it is a knitting book i was suggesting be in the knitting section...lol)
The woman at the front counter was much more receptive of my suggestion! :teehee:

That is so odd! Maybe that sales person was having a bad day? But its a great book, isn't?
