Hi Everybody--

Having just heard that my cousin and his wife are expecting a baby girl, I got the urge to make baby booties in pink. The pattern is free from Bernat, and I used Knit Picks shine worsted in blush.

My main concern is the front seam--I used as best I could the invisible seaming for joining garter stitch. I ripped it out and started over several times :pout:. I hate seaming :!!!::grrr::wall:

But I am worried that the seam still looks nasty (see first photo with the cat playing with the unwoven ends) and am wondering if I should even bother knitting bootie number two.

What do you all think?

Thanks,

Mornnen

It does have a bit of an odd shape from the side. I'd find a better pattern. Did you see the one that Virtuella posted recently? Sooo cute.

Let me see. . here it is (http://members.home.nl/tdpj/Patronen/Bootees/Saartjes%20bootees.pdf)

Can't you knit it in the round and eliminate the seam?

I think I'd do a different one since that has a seam at the front especially.

This one is done in the round so it eliminates the seam. I've made them and they are super easy.

If you must have two needle booties these seam in the back and sole of the foot...I think. :??

Here a few options if you are looking for a different pattern. This one is really cute..it seams up the back:

These are cute too..and really easy:

My favorite baby bootie pattern so far is this one
Christine's Baby Booties (http://fuzzygalore.biz/patterns/cbbooties.shtml)
But it uses lighter weight yarn. I just knit some baby socks from Knit Baby Head and Toes with worsted weight yarn and they turned out really cute.
I've found the best looking booties are the circular seamless ones.

I also like the Tulip Toes pattern from the Knitty.com summer 2006. It looks like tulip leaves, but it is knit flat.

I would post the link, but I got a new computer with a new operating system today, and I can't figure out how!!!:wall::wall::wall:
