I'm wanting to try my hand at cables, and I also need a throw pillow or two for my bed. I know there is an Aran pillow pattern free on the patterns page, but I'd like to look at others.
If you have any cable pillow patterns to share, I'd appreciate it. :)
Also, what is a good yarn for throw pillows? Will a basic acrylic work, or will that get shabby too quickly?

If you can get your hands on this (http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Untangled-Exploration-Cable-Knitting/dp/1400097452/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-5836274-0274248?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1181315099&sr=8-1) book it has some pillow patterns but also has a cable stitch dictionary in the back if you wanted to pick a pattern and design your own pillow! This (http://www.amazon.com/25-Cushions-Knit-Debbie-Abrahams/dp/1843401576/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-5836274-0274248?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1181315254&sr=8-1) book also has some great cabled patterns in it. Hopefully these are availalbe at a local library!
Since pillows are pretty straight forward you could also find a cabled scarf pattern you like and just add stockinette on either side or double the width of the scarf.
As for the yarn - use anything you are comfortable with! Acryclic would be nice for washing but wool/alpaca/cashmere would be super special for snuggling with!
