View Full Version : I was surprised today

I went to my LYS and saw some hand spun by Collinette that was even more thin/thick/lumpy/bumpy than my attempts! It was unplied, expensive and felt scratchy! And the color was not anything I would have looked twice at!
What does one knit with such "designer" yarn?

Designer yarns are a form of art and art is in the eye of the beholder. You may not like it, but I'm sure someone does. I've seen some pretty wild designer yarns that look like a ball of fiber vomit but are oddly beautiful in their own way. Knit up, they make very interesting pieces like hats, scarves, wrist warmers or purses.

I was not taken in with the colors of that particular yarn, but I did think it was interesting that it looked so primitive and cost so much.
Thank you for your thoughts on what it will knit up into. Since I have some at home - I now have a few thoughts on what I can knit. :-)
