joy drive band?

I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it. I have an ashford joy, and I can't get the drive band to stay on! I put it on the 6:1 ratio, and after about a quarter of a turn the band falls off. It does this for all the ratios! I don't know whats happening..or if I'm doing something wrong...
and I had some pretty new hand dyed roving I wanted to spin...

The most likely problem is that the drive band on the wheel is not aligned with the flyer. The joy's flyer doesn't slide to adjust like the other ashfords, rather the wheel has grooves that match up with the ratios on the flyer, so when you put the drive band on the 6:1 groove in the back of the flyer, you should also move it to the last groove of the main wheel so that the drive band is aligned.
