(not an expert) but.....
acrylic doesn't breathe, so it tends to make you hot. you could make house or bed socks, and wear them with out shoes.. that way at least the air can circulate a little on your feet and not get so hot HTH

I agree it's probably good for house socks, I wouldn't want to wear that inside of shoes.

At least some natural fiber is really desirable for socks because it will help wick moisture away and keep your foot cool and dry. Synthetics tend to act like plastic wrap on your foot. And unless you're into that, I don't think you'll enjoy it much.

:waving: On the other hand lots of people make socks out of MicroSpun (100% acrylic) and love them. I made some and they feel great to the hand, but it's still 100 here during the day, so not wearing socks yet. Don't know how comfortable they'd be. :star:

Another that says, "go natural" with socks. I have hot feet as it is, so it helps to have wool socks or bamboo or cotton (although I prefer wool or bamboo) to help keep my feet cool. I don't like the feel of commercial acrylic socks, so can't imagine I would like hand knit acrylic socks any better.
