Ohhhhhhhh I love these socks.....:flirt: this makes me want to knit socks but I have never knitted any ...do you think a total sock beginner could knit those??

I also love the yarn, what is the name of the yarn...such a beautiful colour...these would make such a great gift! :teehee:

It just takes concentration.......and I'm thinking there's an error on row 5 or 6. I've done 2 repeats and each time I am 1 stitch short on row 6.

You might try a plain sock first. I did my first sock (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/showthread.php?t=57725) with the help of Silver's sock tutorial. The link has a link to it. It's great because it's full or large screenshots so you KNOW if you are doing it correctly.

Then, my 2nd socks was lacey (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/showthread.php?t=64740) and eaaaaaasy - after a while I didn't even need to look at the pattern. I can tell this latest one is going to take pattern looking all the way through.

Give it a try! Whichever one you go with first....socks are addicting!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not if I steal them first! Those are GORGEOUS! Make me, almost, want to consider attempting socks. They are beautiful. Thanks for sharing the pattern as well.

Your socks fit way better than the original pattern picture. What did you do to ensure fit? I am asking because I will be ticked off if I make them and they come out loosey goosey like the linked photo. Sorry, but it's true. Please share!! Yours look fantastic-- I said I would never knit socks-- here goes.

Hi - great pattern! Love it. But what's the gauge? I don't see it anywhere.

Thanks,

Guys, I must apologize for leaving you hanging !
I forgot to subscribe to this thread so that I'd know when people posted to it........(I sort of did a 'hit and run' :aww:) and only just now was reminded of the thread when someone contacted me through private message. !

It just takes concentration.......and I'm thinking there's an error on row 5 or 6. I've done 2 repeats and each time I am 1 stitch short on row 6.

I found no error in the pattern......are you remembering to yarn over between the two stitches you take under all of the dropped yarnovers?

My flickr picture tells you what yarn I used. I bought it on Etsy, from a shop called TricotTreat (perfect name for pre-Halloween yarn !)

There is no gauge listed in the pattern, as she doesn't even really call it a pattern,........just a template with the stitch pattern, for people who already have knitted socks, and know how many stitches with what yarn and needles gets them their fit. The sock is worked over 56 stitches, so you just need to know what size of needles and yarn gets you a fit on 56 stitches.

I found the pattern from that page that I supplied a link to..........sorry if it was difficult to find.....it was a pdf.

Humm-- I get a warning that this web site for the socks pattern is asking for all the personal info on my computer. Decided not to enter.

...dotty...
09-26-2007, 10:42 PM
That''s interesting.........and scary !

I got no such warning........maybe she got all my information the first time I visited :roflhard: !

Does this link help......it should go directly to the pdf.

Actually, I think I do see the warning, when opening the pdf file........guess I've become so immune that I no longer notice. I'm sorry, I can't guarantee you anything, as I don't know the author of these patterns. Wish you could knit it too, though.......it's a lovely pattern, don't you think?

Yeah, it's really weird. First time I've every got the following message. I copied it to post here. I do have firewalls etc. activated. Anybody else?

Warning: the web page which you are about to visit may attempt to request your personal information (such as passwords, credit card numbers and social security numbers) for unauthorized use or may otherwise attempt to harm your computer.

Okay, now, I didn't get THAT warning........that would freak me out, too !

I just had another idea, though.........I wonder if you could contact her through her flickr page, and ask her to email you the pattern? Here's a link to her flickr......
