It's finally off the needles and on my body!:woot:
This has been my main summer project. I challenged myself to create at least one big project each season with local fleece (to help the environment and support local farmers). So off I went to find local fleece, dye, spin, design and knit myself up a sweater.
Yesterday was definitely feel like fall. Am I the only on looking forward to sweater season?
I lurve my new sweater. cloud9
Here's the final chapter (http://100milefiberfest.blogspot.com/search/label/Fire%20and%20Ice)of my Fire & Ice sweater project

I think you accomplished all you set out to do with this design. When I saw the pictures of the sweater on you, it looked very ...Brunhilda to me. Viking, warrior maiden. It looks like this was great fun to create and it is fantastic that you did the dying, spinning, etc. yourself. Makes it very personally YOURS. I love it. Not enough words to express it, it is so unique. I bookmarked it so I could show it to my husband. He knits a little and is quite an artist. He will appreciate it as well. Thanks for sharing your creation.

Wow, that's gorgeous! I love that you did it from the ground up, with even processing your own yarn! LOL! I can barely get a sock knit!
09-18-2007, 11:55 PM
This is why knitting is awesome: you can look at knitting magazines, blogs, forums, websites, books, etc, and see hundreds of sweaters, yet each one is just knock-your-socks-off awesome. This is one of those especially awesome ones that makes your jaw drop, too. GOOD WORK!

Thanks again everyone for all your awesome comments. I've added a bit more to the blog (http://100milefiberfest.blogspot.com/2007/09/fire-ice-final-chapter.html) about the sweater. More musings and ramblings about my knitting philosophy. And a photo of the guts of the sweater.
