YOu know the last week and half it has really flown. I had at least 3000 ahead of me at the end of last week and now I am in the circle. I still haven't had time to explore. I have to finish seaming this damask bag so it can hit the washer in the morning. But hopefully later tonight.

Got my invitation today too. Haven't had time to really look around yet. They certainly seemed to speed up with invitations in the last week or so.

I thought I was one of the cool kids when I got in. Then I logged in and started going through everyone's FOs. OMG. I am such a loser!!! I was pretty proud of my knitting until then...

My invite came today. It looks really good, but it will never replace Knitting Help. If I have a yarn I need ideas for, I'll check out what others are doing, but don't think I'll take the time to post all my projects, etc. Rather spend the time knitting, or here.

If I could learn to knit and type at the same time, that might be different. :teehee:

I am basically happy that I will have an online database available to catalogue my yarns, needles, projects, etc. I need that organization right now (desparately). I have bags and bags of yarn to think about. I believe that it will be a super-useful tool for me (for figuring out what I've got and to plan on what to do it). I'm not sure yet what you can do with entering the patterns you've got, except seeing if others have made the same ones (?).

Every day Ravelry kicks my butt in some way or another.

First I was just incredibly intimidated by everyone's FOs. Finally I uploaded my own, and was impressed that they look much better on Ravelry than in my own mind ... I was thinking they might even stand up.

And then I realize that for every cool thing I've done, there are dozens of similar things on Ravelry that are a HUNDRED TIMES COOLER. :(

I am going to seriously have to up my knitting ante here!

I'm not seeing your FO (takes me to KH home page)............BUT, don't look at it as making you look bad, but rather making you strive harder for better FO's ;)

It's all in your perspective.

It may look cooler - but theirs is crocheted... and we all know knitting is way cooler

Actually, it's almost cool enough to make me pick up my crochet hook for a second project. Obviously, now that a year has passed during which I have been admiring the handiwork of my first crochet project, (http://www.flickr.com/photos/54745504@N00/1625517309/) I am beginning to forget how much I hated making it! (and how I let it sit unassembled for SIX months before working up the energy to put that bad boy together!)

But then there are so many awesome knitted things I need to make first, and Ravelry just multiplied that number by like 1,000!

Wow! That blanket is lovely! I made a quilt similar to that design, but it's common for a quilt, I've rarely seen it crocheted... I like the waffle look the blocks give when they're put together, and the gradients in the blocks - too cute!

LOL - I have issues with finish work/assembling things too... I still have a cardigan that's been done for over a year and I have yet to put together (http://www.pinkdandelion.com/index.php?title=well_i_started_a_sock&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1). If I make something that requires assembly it has to be a gift for someone and with a deadline, or it never gets finished.

I love both! I think that the fact that you've finished such a big project is pretty darn commendable... (I have lots of UFOs that I can't even remember what they were supposed to turn into!) And then to have it so pretty, well that's just icing on the cake!

I know this isn't what you want to hear :) but... did you read that that's her first crochet project? If only I could be so good!

I am in I can't believe it . One minute it's at 826 then 249. That stayed at that number for a whole day.:tap:Not a happy camper on that.

Then I checked and the llama said why are you here? Ya I am in at last.:woot::woot::woot:

Now just one question how and where do you find the button for Ravelry :pout:

Any time now - I have 867 in front of me!!!

I am looking forward to seeing what others have done with the same yarns and what the same projects using different yarns are like.

SNOWING??? Oh please I don't really want to hear that snow is on the way. Please tell me you'll keep it in Calgary and not send it to Ontario for at least another month, or until I can get the snow tires onto my car.....

I just got my invite today also. Now I have to head to barn with pad and pencil and write down my stash inventory. It looks like I'll have to sign up with Flickr too.
Please send snow to eastern Wa, I'm ready for winter.

Do you have to join Flickr to put pics on?

That's what it said when I first logged on and read instructions. They give you the link to do it, but I'm not in the mood to deal with Ravelry yet. Getting to close to dinner here and I have my girlfriends animals to feed as well as my own.
