Here is the promised picture of my grandchildren wearing their sweaters, one that I made a few weeks ago, one that I made a few years ago. Anyways, hope you like the shot. Her fweaqter does not show up so well because of the pale colours of it. You can't even tell what it looks like in this shot, dammit! But you get the idea with his.

So are the mittens actual pockets or are they just holding thier hands that way?

It was the little GD's sweater that you did most recently wasn't it? They both look so cute. That little guy's sweater looks like it fits him pretty well. Has he been wearing it for 2 years or did another child wear it until this one grew into it? Are these siblings or cousins?

That's because they are actually pockets. They are flat mitten fronts, sewn to the fweaters. They love them. Mary Maxim has some GREAT stuff.

It was the GD's that I worked on a few weeks ago. Takes roughly a week to do this fweater. The GS has been wearing his for two years now. It was large on him (like hers is on her right now) and so it still fits him quite well. They are brother and sister. He is seven and a half now and she is three and a half.

Thanks everyone for your comments and compliments.

I'm not sure if I am allowed to do this as it is a registered trademark pattern from Mary Maxim, called Snowman Jacket No. 9061N. Others on this site have tried to get this pattern from Mary Maxim and been told they don't have it anymore. I am not sure if I am allowed to put the pattern for the mittens in here, does anyone know????

The pattern reads as follows at the bottom of the back page:

*Reproductions of this pattern in any form (including photostat) is protected by copyright. Any infringement will lead to prosecution.*

Yes, these children are my heart. I wore a t-shirt into the labour and delivery room when my grandson was born. It said "If I had known having grandchildren was this much fun, I'd have had them first." Grandchildren are great. Sugar them up, spoil them silly and send them home! I love to knit for them.
