so apparently, my friend (a male) who I wanted to make a hat for has already received many knitted hats. So now I have a crazy idea, one I"ve never seen: knitted gloves. What I'm imaginging is knitting them in cashmere and then sewing leather patches to the palms to make them driving gloves. Is this crazy? Is there such a pattern? Anyone who has seen a pattern for this, please direct me to it! Thanks!

I can't help with the pattern, but wanted to tell you how cute the picture of you and your DD are in the matching ponchos. She's adorable. :inlove:

You could try Dashing (http://www.knitty.com/issuespring07/PATTdashing.html) a male fingerless glove alternative to the ever popular Fetching (http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer06/PATTfetching.html)

I have used a WW II gloves pattern a couple times:

I used the Gloves No. 207 pattern.
HTH!
