Finished at last! Knit this for my sis as a birthday present. She just called and reported that it's a perfect fit! :happydance:

I knit the M size with slightly smaller gauge hoping to get a size between S and M. I also raised the neckline by a couple of inches. My sis is 5'2" tall so I didn't lengthen the top, but if you're making it for anyone taller I recommend adding a few inches.

It's gorgeous! What kind of yarn did you use? How did you raise the neckline?

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. This is the first garment I've finished. First time knitting bottom up too. I knit another cotton top (top down raglan) before this one but it needs another few days before I can call it finished.

It's gorgeous! What kind of yarn did you use? How did you raise the neckline?

Sorry, I forgot to post specs!
The yarn was elann.com Sonata (http://elann.com/productdisp.asp?NAME=elann%2Ecom+Sonata&Season=&Company=&Cat=ALLY&ProductType=5&OrderBy=&Count=49) in color 6960 - Victorian Grape. I used about 5 skeins for size M (recommend splitting the last ball).
To raise the neckline, I rewrote the pattern starting from the point where it calls to split for neckline. I have it in my notes, but I can pm you my modified version if you like. I do plan to write up the modifications and post it on my blog for future reference but haven't done it yet.

:cheering:beautiful job and color!
what pattern did you use? I know you made changes to it, but I don't see where you put which pattern it is ! I would love to make one for my daughter..she is living on Okinowa and it is very warm/hot there, but this yarn you used looks good.

Thank you! I used this free pattern from Knitty - Soleil (http://www.knitty.com/issuespring05/PATTsoleil.html)
It's a really good top for warm weather. Hope you have fun knitting it!

Gorgeous! I actually plan on making this for myself someday. I even have yarn for it. I am even shorter than your sister, so I would love to know the details on the modification to the neckline.
