Dad and I are making 18 scarves for Christmas. We bought KnitPicks Bare Fingering Weight and I have been dyeing it it my crockpots. Feather and Fan scarves for the women (6 total) and 8 scarves for the men a basic stockinette with garter stitch borders. We found the simpler the pattern the better it shows off the variations in the yarn. I have one finished Feather and Fan, but dad has it right now, hehe. I'll post it when I get it back. He has done a couple scarves for the men, that'll be my next project after I get this Feather and Fan done. The second pic shows some of the blue yarn I have dyed. :)
And here is a pic of the Queen of Daimond Gloves from KnitPicks that I am working on for the Challenge of the Month! I'm close to being done with the first glove. Hope you like it! :D It is done in KnitPicks Essential. Sorry the pic is a little blurry.

It sounds like you and your dad have a great project going together. Scarves all around....the neck. What fun to dye the yarn and make all those scarves together. I think I would have picked sport weight at least, to save on stitches. LOL Lazy me.
The gloves look like they are coming along nicely.

Doh! I forgot to say that we are double stranding the scarves! So pretty much worsted weight, and using size 10's so the knitted fabric is nice and soft. Its been a huge, but fun project, hehe!

They are going to be just gorgeous!
Wow, your colors are so vivid! Just gorgeous yarn, and I love the scarf pattern. You're so lucky to be able to work on a project like that with your dad. Enjoy!

Your scarf is gorgeous - the pattern looks much nicer on your scarf than others I have seen done on smaller needles...do you mind telling me what your gauge is and how many stitches you cast on?
My LYS is going out of business so I took advantage of the sale and have yarn coming out my ears and so I must get to knitting before the hubby questions the new purchase :knitting:

Thanks so much for your kind replies!!
vaknitter, I knit up a little gauge swatch in stockinette...:teehee: don't even try figuring out gauge with feather and fan stitch, lol! I didn't know where to begin, hehe.
My gauge is 4 stitches per inch and 5 rows per inch. This is 2 strands of fingering weight held together using size 10 needles. Hope that helps! So sad your LYS is closing..but nice that you get good yarn at great prices! :woot: Have fun!
