Pattern emergency please help!

I am making my mother inlaw a sweater for Christmas and while they where hree a month ago she picked out a pattern it is for chunky yarn I got encore bulky because she wanted it to be machine washable ,anyway it is a plain stockinette sweater with a cable band around the wrists neck and bottom and it needs to be a large.This is not going to look good at all it's going to make her look a lot larger than what she is I think because there is nothing going on in the sweater ,now I need a new pattern I would like something with cables and remeber I have bulky yarn (buying more yarn is not an option).Any help would be reatly appreciated.

There's a pattern in the new Knit 'n Style for a sweater coat with bulky. You can make it sorter. It's mostly rev st st, but it has a nice cable in it.
