View Full Version : Hand finally well enough to knit.. sort of..

I've had a tendon thumb injury for the past several weeks-- and I finally decided that I'd try to knit again a couple of days ago- (I'd tried in the past- but, my hand was incapable of making the knitting motions and the doctor told me not to anyway-- so, I couldn't even if I had wanted to.. :D)

ANYWAY.. it's not much-- but, here they are 4" squares knitted to be put together ashttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2332/1962678731_21bba47c72.jpgfor a 'blanket' to be raffled off to help pay for a child's wheelchair.

It did hurt to knit.. but, at least my hand can do it now. I just knitted 10 minutes.. a couple of times a day until I got both of them finished. I just need to not overdo the knitting nor expect to knit every day for awhile.
SO HAPPY with the return of the knitting ability. :woot:

Hi there my friend.
I am so glad to hear that you are on the mend. But really you should be resting that hand. It will heal quicker.
The squares look great though :)
Rest that hand

The squares are lovely, but do give your hand a rest. You don't want to make it worse

Thanks everybody! It was so much fun to get to FINALLY KNIT again after several weeks. I had missed it so much.. and I did 'ice' my hand after I finished-- because it was hurting. :*(

Thanks for the good wishes. I did get out some yarn to 'pet' in the meantime.. so, it can wait its turn to get knitted up.
