Should we be worried about not hearing from our swap partners? I know the last swap I was in, we were told to contact our partners at once in awhile.
But I have sent an email and haven't heard back and I have yet to hear from who has me.
Just sitting and waiting and dreaming of yarn.:inlove:

I haven't heard from my partner either...maybe they are away for the Holidays. We have a new LYS that opened this past week.:happydance: I can't wait to go and see what she has that my partner might like.

I haven't contacted my swap partner yet but I have been shopping. So any of you that haven't heard a word, it could be me. I must now get wrapping. I did get an email from the person sending to me. This is my first swap, so it is quite exciting.

I've been yarn shopping! I'm done with my parcel now apart from the card  I'm not sure when I'll post it yet though so just be patient swap partner!

A general question...
Would you prefer less items (both yarn and knitting tool) that are more luxurious or more slightly cheaper items?
:??
ooo good question.
Part of me says 'who cares its a gift and its fun' but part of me think 'oooo, a chance for luxury yarn' (i dont have much cash or a decent LYS here so luxury is always a treat!)
I think i want to get my partner somthing a bit special, or different at least.
Now another Question for you guys. Would you rather recieve somthing similar to what you normally knit with and in the 'safe' zone, or would you like it if you partner got you somthing which maybe is a bit different than normal and pushes the boat out a little (i.e. a different colour or type of yarn than normal)?

I have Threesmom, I am going shopping soon!
Just a quick question, what is your favorite yarn ever?
Brand, Type, and Colorway please.

:happydance:  Yippeee , i have been contacted by my partner who is being very secretive lol has even changed her name:knitting:
And i have got all my secret things for my swap . Just have to wrap and send . Maybe after the holidays.
So secret pal you know who you are? OOOpss lol no you don't:roflhard: I will let you know when it is on it's way

Ooh good question! I would say that I'd like something different. A different type of yarn would be better for someone like me who likes most colours anyway. :)
Wow, how impressive! People are already mailing out their packages. I'd love to send mine out too, but the person I have hasn't replied back yet. But that's okay, no rush, I'm guessing she's enjoying the holidays!

I have contacted my person. But haven't heard anything from who may have gotten me, but now I see I may not... ;)
I have been doing research, research, research... Have a page of notes, deciding on what to do... what to do???? This is fun... :happydance: Going to do some shoppin' tomorrow (while I am out doing my Christmas returns!).
I love hearing about everyone's progress and methodology! Got some sneaky folks 'round here!

I have contacted my secret pal and have heard back. And I have heard from the knitter who has me and I have e-mail back. I write this just in case some where my e-mail got lost.
I get to go to a LYS next week. I don't have one here in my town, so I will get some thing special for you, and ME!!

Wow! Some people have already posted packages! Oh dear, I
haven't even started shopping yet...no wait scratch that....I haven't
started buying yet! Just been window shopping waiting til after the
hassle of the holidays is well behind me before I start putting the
package together....
Been spying out my partner on Ravelry and getting some great ideas!
Could it be you?? Feel kinda guilty though because I'm on Ravelry
but haven't used it except to put my books and a few stash
pieces on so no one would get too much info about me from there...
I'd really like to set up my pattern queue but where to find the time?
Anyhoo, just wanted to say hey partner, I am shopping for you and
have some things in mind but you'll just have to wait til the holidays
are over! Planning on making some things for you too....;)

Panic not people who haven't heard from there swappers, I know some people are away and will not be back until January so give it time.
Mare-knitt you should check your spam folder, although I think your pal is just doing tons of research before they get in contact.
So someone is getting a parcel soon?! WOW like Rita said that's got to be a record!
Any problems anyone? Let me know.

:cheering: I THINK, but I'm not sure, that my swapee was knittinmitchie. Is that you Chris? Christine? Your package arrived today, and I love everything, thank you so much. There is a neat little basket, that I'm going to put our GD's smaller books in, two skeins of Bernat Softee Chunky, a ball of Peaches and Creme in a color I need to finish a dishcloth (how in the world did you know?), some cute stitch markers, and bamboo needles in my favorite size, along with a couple of Bernat books with lots of cute winter clothing.
Thank you again! This was my first swap, but it won't be my last. It was too much fun shopping for my person, and getting a box in the mail.

Hi Folks
I’ll make up the packs of markers early next week, seal them in separate envelopes and then send them all together in one parcel to Nobones.. When she receives it, she’ll address the envelopes to the winners and send them off.
Could winners please let me know ASAP if they would like the hook markers for straight needles or regular ring markers for circs.
Good Luck everyone. Glad you’re enjoying the swap.

She is determined to help me achieve my 2008 GOAL of knitting socks for the first time ever!! Thanks for the wonderful gag of goodies, Jeanie!
It was so nice to meet Jeanie, her beautiful little blonde-haired, green-eyed daughter, and her handsome husband!

The puppy actually has shoes but i think it looks better without. And the pattern also calls for it to be made with patches but i prefer it plain . which is what i did.

Sitting on my couch this morning, the door bell rang. Not knowing who was there, I went down to answer the door. To my surprise, there stood the Royal Mail man with a PACKAGE for ME. Well, I signed my name took the package and BT bill, and came back upstairs. I had no clue who had set me something since I have been so busy picking things for my swappee, I completely forgot that I would be getting a package, too.
Standing in the kitchen with DH and DD, I unwrapped the paper to find a box of cereal, which my DH found very funny. But inside the cereal box was lots of YARN.
DQ, you did a great job. My DH is trying to claim the black sock yarn for a pair of socks for himself. The green is all mine, now to find the perfect pattern.
I will post pictures when DD and DS go down for either a nap or bedtime. I have YARN PORN!!!!!!
Thank you very much DQ.

OK! I have photos that I took for Ravelry, but didn't take photos of the nice cable needles, the booklet, and the Fetching pattern.
Here is the Inca Alpaca! Jeanie gave me two skeins, but I only took a photo of one of them! I love white and creams! I am going to make my first pair of fingerless gloves, probably Fetching! I have always drooled over other's Fetching gloves.

I know some of you have already posted out parcels (and that's great I wish I could be that ordised!) but remember if YOU haven't had anything back, parcels are due by 31st January.
Please if ANYONE has ANY problems let me know, I can't help you if you don't tell me. Tell me and I'll do everything I can to put it right.
We've had some lovely packages go out so far, lucky people! it's lovely seeing the pictures.

I just got rid of all of my spam mail and I came across this cute poem from my swap pal:
Just a note to let you know that I am still here
I didn't drop out nor disappear.
This secret knitter is working away
To fill your box with gifts so gay
A bit more time is all I need
To make your package perfect you see!
Isn't that cute! I was doing the :woot: lol.
To my pal I am almost done with your package!

My husband just called to say a package came for me....... At first I wasn't sure if it was my order FOR my swap person, or FROM my swap person... he said it was FROM -- eeeeeeeeeeeee -- :woot: But I didn't ask anything... I want to be surprised.

OK, I must admit, when I saw Sue's post, for some reason, I thought she was talking to me... no kidding... we have had NO contact, except for one PM through Nobones, but then when DH called about the package this afternoon, he said it was from New York... so blew that out of the water.... Well, it was from a York, but not "New" York!
Susan (Sue in CA) must be psychic:
I got wonderful sock yarn... with every color I love (am attempting to becoming a sock knitter), with a sock pattern for an ankle sock, the ONLY kind I wear (how did she know?),
3 other patterns that speak to me personally: I crochet (crochet bag), My mom is buying a house in Galveston (beach bag), and I love lace (lace afghan).
I received a row counter bracelet, but the colors are so beautiful, I think I could wear it anytime! haha....
The most personal item was, my avitar.... isn't he adorable! And he loves his new friends...
And then the CARD -- OMG... handmade... soooo adorable, DH had to touch it! Very talented! I was very lucky on my first swap!!

What a cute card! How does the row counter bracelet work?
I had heard of them before, but never seen one: it has beads on a wire holder, and then a docorated "elastic" that you move the beads through as you knit... I am sure I am not explaining it adequately... makes sense when I am holding it! :p

* a packet of Lionbrand stitch makers
* 3 balls of 100% cotton yarn, in three different colors
* 2 balls of Paton's Kroy sock yarn
* 2 balls of Meilenweit Cotton

I'm so so SO happy you like everything! I'm a little addicted to making the stitch markers. They're so easy and you can impress people with them very easily. The SWS knits up very soft, and - I have to warn you - it's HARD to felt it! Not mechanically, it felts well and easily, just hard to make yourself do it because it feels so soft when you're working with it. But it stays soft after felting so it's ok... :)

That is not all, by any means! I have a package that will go out on Friday or Saturday! I just didn't want you to feel slighted and the lady at your LYS was so sweet and helpful. Hope you'll enjoy!:muah: Mary

Knitpixie rocks. Here's why:

There's so much cool stuff. Notebook, Jaywalker pattern, card, crochet hook (small for sock knitter's like me), yarn cutter (I love yarn cutters. They are all over my house), chocolates, earrings, stitch markers, smelly good stuff, a cool box, carmel & chocolate popcorn (YUMMY!), a neat bag for holding notions, a basket, a homemade drawstring bag (for holding my next project), mouse toys for my cats Gato and Bob, and YARN! [See below]. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff too; there's just so much coolness going on!
I'm totally stoked and can't wait to start on the jaywalkers with the handpainted at the top. They will look awesome.

Gato was feeling the love right away by knocking the empty box off of the chair and playing in it. She is actually playing with the toy mouse, but you can't see because it's under her.

Here's Bob playing with his toy. He FREAKED out, attacked the mouse then attacked the table. It was awesome:

My internet's been down for a while so I couldn't post to say my package arrived.
I'll post a picture a little later, but I got 2 things of sock yarn and a sock pattern. Yay socks!
I still don't know who my swap partner is...!! The emails were signed Pennie but the return address said Jennifer..!! sneaky sneaky.
