View Full Version : In love with seed stitch

I absolutely love seed stitch. I use it in borders in place of garter stitch. I often thought about making a seed stitch scarf. I'm sure I could just cast on the right amount of stitches and stitch the whole thing in seed stitch - but does anyone have a pattern that utilizes seed stitch and makes a nice scarf? Thanks in advance.

Not a pattern per se, but I have thought of making up a quick moss (same as seed) scarf using the nice "quick and thick" woolease for the kids. It's such a fun stitch, doesn't get as boring as stockinet and has great texture!

I found this (http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns/scarves/aran-seed-scarf-scarf.html)pattern for a seed stitch scarf...
The book Hip to Knit has a pretty seed stitch scarf in it too that is done Noro Kureyon...
Here (http://www.gaea-creations.com/scarves.html)is a pattern for sale..
KPC (http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory.php)might have some too...

I love it too! I did it for the first time about a month ago, and it was sort of difficult to do the opposite of what I'm used to- which is knitting the knits and purling the purls. Once I got the hang of it I was hooked!

I am almost done with a scarf in seed stitch right now. I just cast on an uneven number of stitches and worked in the seed stitch until I'm happy with the length. It doesn't curl and showcases the yarn nicely!

I've done a few plain seed stitch scarves, too. They've always turned out nice.
