I just showed that to husband; he rolled his eyes because he knows that I seriously considered it for a moment.

I definitely thought for a moment that it might be a good idea until I considered the fact that I live in Seattle. Then I had a greate image of a giant sweater felting to a house and then shrinking

I think that would take up all the yarn in the world

Show of hands... who wants this to be a KAL!? Somebody make giant needles, we'll measure a fairly small house, and then we mail it around the country and everybody can add a skein of RHSS. We could be on TV with it and stuff!
Hehehe...:teehee:

I did... hehe.

I still don't think it'd be such a BAD idea.. wool doesn't burn, it soaks up moisture, it's natural so it's breathable, BUT it is very thermal... At least a knitted House Hat, to help keep the heat from escaping through the top... haha.

My place is very tiny. It was a garage that they turned into a duplex. Use some super chunky wool, held 4 strands togethers on US 50.. Knit like... 10 HUGE scarves with them and sew em together and voila... haha.

I must admit that I have considered putting old skeins of acrylic yarn in the attic as insulation. :teehee:

Let me talk to hubby, he's dragging out all his electrical wire in order to wire his new shop. He's got rolls of it, I'll just ask him to grind and weld on some needle points and we're off and running.

What about some of the plastic hose like for aquariums? its much more flexible.

Ok..lol give a group of knitters a seemingly impossible project, and we will overcome any obstacle. I love the idea of wire/ or garden hose, lol.

I live in an apartment and on one wall, there is a draft. I admit it, i knitted soome heavy duty wool made a draft stopper, and it works great!

I love the idea of covering a house.. We could solve the energy crisis.. why are we not ruleing the world?

I found a website that has instructions for making your own circular needles.
We can make some ANY size we WANT! :woohoo:

Oh, but I was having so much fun thinking of the looks I would get walking in to my LYS to request that a 35 yard size 40 needle be ordered.
