so I can keep the seaming to a minimum (that, and I LOVE stockinette in the round). I also need one that comes in an XL.

Thanks in advance!!!

Boo, you can go here to the knitting fool (http://www.knittingfool.com).com for a sweater pattern generator. You just plop in your measurements and the gauge of the yarn you want to use and click the little button and woohoo ya got yerself a sweater in the round (top down raglan) in the size you want. Not to mention that there are hundreds of lovely stitches to use if you so desire on the site also. Just check out the left hand side of the page there and pick whichever project you want.

Here are a couple similar sites. You use your desired final measurement, so you'll get the right size.

I'm recreating a raglan I lost the pattern for, using this first pattern.
in-the-round raglan: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/FEATknitbynumbers.html

I love top-down patterns, but it wouldn't work with the cables, etc. I need to incorporate. You might want to try this one.

Good luck with your sweater!

You first have to go to the free patterns page, then select the Shrugs category - http://knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/shrugs.php

I don't know if you are looking for long sleeve or short sleeve, but here is a short sleeve one.
I made two of these, one according to pattern and the one below in straight stockinette. It was really easy.

My first sweater was the hourglass sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. It was a fairly quick knit and turned out beautifully. It is knit in the round. I got the book from the library.

Excellent site. One of my biggest problems is knitting a sweater that actually fits, even though I measure.
A knitting fool, I am at times.
Thanks for the thread and replys.
