Here is a picture of a scarf that I made for my DH. Knitted using double strands of Sidar Peru only had two balls of the natural and 4 balls of Livingstone so used light and dark on the ends and two darks in the middle. worked on 8mm Circulars started Saturday and finished Sunday. is 7 foot long.47207

here is also a picture of some Wrist warmers/fingerless gloves that I made for my 12 year old DD. used Rowan Wool Cotton. She thinks they are super cool and wears them all the time.

:yay: They both look great!! Isn't it neat when you make your child something and they don't want to take it off...my little girl is like that with a pair of socks right now

Where did you find the wrist warmer pattern? My dd wants to try to knit a pair

I actually bought this pattern, its a compilation of gloves, mitts that turn into gloves etc. I did not read the pattern through before I bought it and when I came home found that they were all done on straight needles and a lot of seaming up afterwards. So had to alter it a bit and do them on dpn's. I'm sure I have seen free patterns on Knitty.com

The scarf colors are beautiful! And I LOVE how long the gloves are! Those are the best - when they come up the arm like that! Good work!

Thank you for the nice comments on my work. I will be making more of the wrist warmers for my daughters and me before winter returns. May play around with some cabling running up the arm.

Nice work! I especially like the mitts. I made a pair of Knuckles mitts for my 7 year old grandson last winter. I made them red and wrote "Star Wars" across the knuckles. He loved them, but his older sister has a pair like yours that are long and he wants me to make a pair for him. Red is his favorite color, but he wants black, which I'm not crazy about and consider kind of a non-color. (But a grandma does what she has to.)

I'm waiting to see if they are still "in" next year. LOL I think they are cool looking, but practically speaking how does a 7 year old boy wear these in the winter? Do they go over the long sleeved shirt? Under (then what is the point?) Seems like short sleeves are in order to show them off. When my kids were little I never put them in short sleeves in winter. Do they wear them now-a-days?

My teenage daughter tries to wear t-shirts in the winter, but I always make her change or put a sweater on top. These gloves are about 5-6 inches up from the wrist on me maybe you could just 2-3 inches. then if they get fed up with the length they could always just fold them down once and they will be normal gloves.

Love your idea about star wars, my 7 year old loves star wars and spiderman
