So, I can't make it to my cousin Daniela's bat mitzvah (because it's in Los Angeles and I'll be taking midterms in Philadelphia). She's something of a diva--loves strutting around the house in boas and singing into fake microphones and so on, so I thought I'd make her a fun drop stitch scarf. I found a pattern I like, but I'm looking for a good yarn rec. It's California, obviously, so I'm looking for something light, in preferably variagated shades of pink. I'm mostly curious about what it's made of--should I go for cotton, or maybe some kind of silk blend? What do you guys think?

In the Stitch N Bitch Nation book, there is a pattern for a drop stitch scarf made from ribbon yarn. I thought it looked awesome and the drop stitch really suits the ribbon yarn.
