View Full Version : First time posting FO: Lace Baby Blanket

03-17-2008, 10:30 AM
This is my first time for posting a finished object. This is a baby blanket for my son. It is made with Wendy Peter Pan DK in Lilac. I made my deadline and it even ended up the size I wanted (34" square to match the blankets I made his sister). I used US 5 / 3.75 mm Addi Turbo circulars.

Beautiful blanket. Another Feather and Fan type. They are so gorgeous. The color is lovely. I also like your picture with the light shining through the blanket. Is the first or second picture closer to the true color?

It is the Elegantly Simple Baby Blanket (http://www.heartstringsfiberarts.com/babyblanket.shtm). It is an easy to follow pattern.

The colors in the close-up picture are pretty accurate.

Ah, I'm still learning chart symbols, can you clarify this for me?

* 3\, (yo, k1)5 times, yo, /3

Don't the \ and / mean to either sssk or k3tog?

left slant (3\) = sssk? right slant (3/) = k3tog?

TIA! Mary

You ought to have more letters in your user name. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah would signify your work more accurately. Where'd you get the yarn? Checked with the brand site and found none of that color combo. Jean

I concur with everyone else!! Beautiful work and lovely color!!!

/3 - (right slanting triple decrease): SSSK, then slip
NEXT stitch over stitch just made by
temporarily moving stitches from needle to
3\ - (left slanting triple decrease): slip 1 as to knit,
knit 3 together, pass slipped stitch over

Once you do it a few times, it makes more sense.

You can find it here (http://www.tbramsden.co.uk/html/yarnpage14.html)as color 991 luscious lilac. I had to special order it from my LYS to get enough. I used 6 skeins and have 4 left as a special order was a minimum of 10.
