Need opinions!

I am working on my own version of a "babydoll" style top, and for the lacy skirt bottom I am stuck! I don't a really open holed lace and the yarn I am using is SoftTwist, so the guage is 5 sts per inch.

I thought about these:

this one one of 2 ways, either using only a couple of sts in the middles, instead of 5, or possibly putting a acable st in those 5 stitches, but not sure if that would be to busy!

I have looked at lace patterns until I am blurry eyed, they are all great, but I don't want too much skin shoing on belly either LOL!

for what it's worth i like the third option. i'm doing the same thing with lace patterns. i just splurged and bought some handmaiden lace silk. i think i may have to go to my LYS...

oh I love the lion brand picture for your lace project.
I think you should do a poll to see which one wins. Just an idea.

LOL... I flipped through my lace pattern books and picked out "traveling vine" as a nicely vertical open pattern. When I googled it to find a link the one you have posted above popped up first. Guess what I voted for?

LOL! So far I am leaning towards that one! I really want to do cables for the straps, I wonder if I could add cables in between sections of traveling vine too.....
