Here's mine - Daisy is our 1 1/2 y/o who likes to sleep in my recliner and hoard all the new toys. Poor 'ole Spencer (white dog) is just bored with us all : )

The spider is a long dead male but you can't really tell the difference from the living female who should (edit)live to(/edit) be around age 30.

The dog is my only present dog. He's the best one I've ever had. I think he's a reincarnated Buddhist trying to come back as a human.

Had to ad my other babies - my bunny Scamper I had for almost 8yrs and he passed away a couple years ago and the other dog is my ole man Cody who lives with my parents (he goes EVERYWHERE in the truck with my father)

A rabbit!
I forgot about my sister's blue rabbit. (I think this is her present one but she's gone through so many, I tell her she does better than I do hunting.)

She got into rabbits because a stray lop showed up on her doorstep.
She eventually found the owners and they let her keep it.

Gotta love the bunnies ! I got my first one as a kid b/c my brother wanted a dog and my mom said NO WAY was she going to raise 2 kids and a puppy ... my dad was being shipped to sea with the Navy. They talked and got us a Netherlands Dwarf - Misty Blue - that was a reject from a breeder. She lived almost 9 yrs and made 3 moves with us. Then I got another one when I graduated college and couldn't find an apt to rent that would allow me to have the 'ole man Cody. I wish I could talk the hubby into another one or two bunnies, but not likely to happen with 2 dogs.
Oh well, thanks for sharing all the pics.

It's fluffy, just not as cuddly :)
She really does have a bad attitude, not like the one I had that liked to be petted (I used a stick).

(I meant to say she should live to be around 30, not that she is 30.)

Aren't all these pets precious!
Here is a picture of our sweet Speckles, the day after Christmas with her new toy. No, I did not pose her that way. She's very photogenic! She loves to run around and play with her toys, then take them to the landing there to chew awhile, then use them as pillows for naptime.

Being overly afraid of spiders is why I got my first one (I was up to 9 at one time).

Everyone's babies are so cute. My cat Joey (avatar picture) loves the printer too! He just sits and watches like he is at a tennis match. I had to post this! Here is my Sierra. A couple of nights ago it was pouring rain. Of course at the exact moment of extreme downpour my dog Bentley had to go out. Needless to say we both came back in soaked. I quickly ran to my laundry room to get dry clothes. In my rush to get B dried off so the whole house would get that lovely wet dog aroma, left my jeans on the floor instead of the hamper. The next morning I came down to do a load of laundry and saw this

Awww. Everyone's animals are so precious. Here are my 'kids,' Hannah, (black husky mix, who is no longer with us  ), Pepe (brown collie mix), Rhett (large white dog), and Maggie Mae (small white dog, looking innocent as usual). Vaknitter, I think my Rhett and your Spencer could be twins. My animals are just so dear to me, and they bring such joy. I don't know what I would do without them. I get so discouraged sometimes when I hear stories of abused and neglected animals, so its very refreshing to know that there are still lots of people in the world who care for and love their babies.

Yes it was you I was asking, because your first post didn't say boy or girl and no name. She is a cutie. How old is she Ronda?

Ronda
04-07-2008, 09:39 AM
She'll be 4 in June. Apparently, she is small for a mini poodle. She is from the very last litter her mother ever had. Three pups were born in that litter (a small litter for the mom), and apparently they were all pretty small. She's a good little girl. When she was about 4 months old, she jumped off the back of a very tall couch and broke a leg (my mother was baby-sitting her and feels guilty to this day). I took her to the vet immediately, and the vet told me that there were no fractures (after taking x-rays). She sent us home with some anti-inflammatories. A week later, I was still carrying this dog around and she was in pain. I called the vet and the vet told me not to worry. A couple months later, we took her to be groomed. I love her fur all fat and fluffy, but she occasionally has to be cut down or she can't see! When I picked her up from the groomers, I noticed that her leg was all deformed. I ran and got the original x-rays from Vet #1 and took her to a new vet, and this new vet said that the original x-rays showed an obvious fracture. Her fracture was horribly displaced. He told me though that no amount of surgery now would ever correct the problem, so Maggie has a little problem with her leg. It's really sad. She can run like crazy though and walk, but she usually tries not to put any weight on her one leg, and it's shorter than the others. Twice we've had episodes where she seems to be in a lot of pain and I carry her around and give her medicine for about a week. I don't know what we'll do when the pain gets too bad for her. It will break my heart. For now though, she's doing well.

The.Knitter
04-07-2008, 10:59 AM
Poor little thing. That vet should be sued or something. It's awful that he left that poor baby to suffer for so long. Go break his leg and then leave him like that and see how he feels, the nasty man!

Everyone's pets are sooooo cute!!!

These are my babies, doggie Cisco, 8 years old and kitty Griffin, 4 years old. (Griffin is named after the show Family Guy). Two of the photos are them post-op surgery. Griffin ate a doorstopper about 2 months after we got him and had to be cut stem to stern to have it removed. Cisco had surgery last month to remove a cancerous tumor from his elbow. Since it was in a strange area his stitches kept popping out. This was the third stitch replacement and it happened to be on St. Patrick's Day so they wrapped his arm in green! :roflhard:

:yay: I love looking at all the photos!!

Here is Whitlee she isn't here with us right now...She was rescued from a Puppy Mill of 85 dogs...she was about to have some pups (she had 8)...and Save a Mom took her in...she also had some deep teeth wounds from another dog...she was weaned from her puppies last week and taken to the vet where all test came back good...She is now entering a home that takes the dogs and trains them sort of...they make sure they don't have any bad behaviors...good with kids...good with cats...house broken...don't jump up on kids...get her fattened up a bit 'cause she was pretty skinny...that type of thing...then on May 13th she will go and be spayed...then after her stitches are removed she will be groomed and then we can bring her home...she is very sweet and was good with the kids...the kids keep asking when do we get our dog? :teehee:

This photo was taking on our trip to see her and see how she would be with the kids...JD is trying to hold her for a photo but Roo was running around and she wanted to get back to their game...She is 2yrs old...and a mix of beagle and basset...the lady told us her ears were to short to be considered basset but to long for a beagle...her body is long like a basset...her legs are like a beagles

He is Great Dane mix, we adopted him from a shelter in the San Diego area 7 years ago, they found him as a little puppy wandering the streets with a foxtail in his eye. Right now he is about 75 lbs and about 7 years old, he has a little bit (well, more than a little bit) around his muzzle.

i had to join in.

I dont have a pet right now since I am living in student acomodation and have had to move house a lot the past couple of years.

I did have 2 cats, a ginger tom called Wotsit and his sister a very fluffy tortoishell named twiglet who i loved to pieces, but when i split up with my partner and had to move out it was best that he kept the cats. I realy miss them, but i get regular updates which is nice.

My brother has two dogs. They are both rescue dogs. The first is a Miniture Yorkshire Terrier called Max, who they found abandoned in the middle of the city. he was extremely malnourishe dand had wounds and injuries on him. They took him to a vet who housed him for a few weeks until he was back up to strength, then after aproval from a local rescue charity, he went to live with my brother. you would never know he was mistreated, he is so freindly and playfull.

the second is a shittsu (sp?) called Lola. They got her from a rescue centre. When she was found, she had open wounds on her back sides and head, some of which may have been knife wounds. She also had healed stab wounds. two of the wounds on had developed into maggot infested sores. She also had a healed borken back. She is now very well looked after and given pleanty of cuddles and love. unfortunately, she is also slightly overweight, but struggles to excercise because of her back.

Here are a few pics of my girls :muah:

Shelley is the fawn. She was a rescue. The first pic was taken the day we brought her home, she was a whopping 80lbs...The second was taken a few month later. The vet asked me if it was the same dog!!! :cheering:
