Handspun singles

Hi! I signed up for a workshop designing yarns with a hand spindle. Basically we are going to work bits of fabric, other fibers, etc., in to yarn using a hand spindle.

We are suppose to bring "handspun singles" and I'm not fully sure what that means. The instructor is away!

Can anyone throw me a clue?

Handspun singles are single-ply yarn you've already spun. It sounds to me like they might be having you add to existing yarn, perhaps?

But, if you haven't spun before I don't see how you'd have any singles to bring :D Definitely contact the instructor when they're back and find out, make sure you know if they're providing all materials or if you have to bring your own fleece or something.
