Just wanted to say Happy Beltane to all the Pagans and anyone else who celebrates this day :-)
This is the first year for a while I haven't been at http://www.beltane.org/ - a *huge* Beltane festival in Edinburgh - people come from all over the world to it. I'm sad to miss it, but my health wouldn't permit climbing a hill and standing around for hours tonight :-( It's the most incredible event, though, and I'd recommend anyone who can to go to it (next year, now, obviously ;-)).
Anyway, hope everyone has a great night/day, and that you're all well :-)
Take care,
Fi xxx

At the college where I did my undergrad, we had a tradition on May Day... also called Naked Day. It's even mentioned in wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_College#Traditions) :)
I never participated though.... :shifty:

You beat me too it. IT is 9:45 here in the UK but i have been up since 4AM for our local MayDay/Beltain celebrations.
Durham Uni is very big on societies so every year the folk society and the pagan society and anybody else who wishes to go along (many members of what are reffered to as the Geek Soc) meet on a bridgge over the river in the woods, to watch the sunrise, we have a bit of a BBQ, there is folk music, morris dancing, singing and a fair bit of mead or ale drunk. When the weahter is decent and the river at a safe level, we go for a swim, unfortunately today the river was too high after some recent rains so we stayed wrapped up in cloaks coats and scarves and made do with the singing and merrymaking instead, giving a hearty 'Merry Beltain' to those people who were walking past.
