i am working on the sleeves for the central park hoodie and am knitting both sleeves at the same time on one needle. I find I have to keep counting the rows as I will sometimes knit two or more rows on the same sleeve and none on the other one. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep track of which sleeve to work next?? I think I may put a safety pin on the one that needs knitting next. Any ideas??? Thanks, Patty

Are you knitting the sleeves flat or circular?

Either way, it might help to always knit to the end of the needle, finishing that row in both sleeves before stopping. Never stop between the sleeves - impossible to tell which way to go. Or maybe always stop in the middle of one of the sleeves, then there is only one direction to go in.

I knit both sock on circulars at the same time. I stuck a marker between the socks. If the marker is on the left needle I haven't done the sock which is following. On the right I have done it. I also find that it is a good place to stop and that way I know where I am.:woohoo:

Thank you both very much for your help. I am knitting flat with my knitpick options needles, and will use both of your responses. Again, my thanks for taking the time to respond! :yay: Patty

I also mark the 'adjoining' edges of each sleeve so that when the markers are near each other I'm working the same side. Another option some find helpful is to loosely tie the pieces tog with waste yarn. Keeps the pieces in the same relationship all the time.

I safety pin the 2 sides together, I also continue to put a new safety pin marking each 5th row or so, I also put a odd stitchmarker on the 3rd stitch on the first side of the set
then I can tell where I am in relation to the rest of my work.

Thanks to you, ecb, for your help. I have tried safety pinning the two pieces together and it does help. ;) Patty
