boy am i in a pickle

after spending most of the winter with a virus
and vertigo due to the virus
i decided to start knitting again
i was knitting a shawl
lost it and i am going to kill myself
the pattern i mean
the shawl is knit
l row increase l stitch
2 row knit
you dot this for 48 inches
and then you decrease
till you are out of stitches
much like a dishcloth
comes out like a rounded shawl
i have forgotten whether you decrease at the beginning or the end
and i cant remeber th name of the pattern
any help PLEASE

Usually the increase is done at the beginning of the row.

If you'd been doing them at the end of the row and switch it now, it really wouldn't make much of a difference in the long run, though, as long as you're consistent from this point forward.

Yes, just take a look at it and do the increase at the same edge you've been doing them.
