View Full Version : FO: Print o' the Wave stole

05-13-2008, 08:44 PM
Hey everyone! I seriously think this is my coolest knitting project to date. It's Eunny Jang's Print o' the Wave stole pattern (okay, I think it's tied with Eunny Jang's Bayerische socks, which I have half-completed) and I'm in love! :) Let me know what you think!

I used Knit Picks Shadow Laceweight in Jewels Heather with my KP Options size 4. More details on the Ravelry! (The first one used flash so the color isn't very accurate, but I think it might help to see the stitch definition a little more clearly).

I’m really getting interested in knitting-as-art. This is the first piece in a set of two shawls I’m going to make - I call it “Baptism in Water” and the other will be similar, in a reddish-orange called “Baptism in Fire.”

Wow, I've had this pattern printed out for months now. It's beautiful and your work is spectacular! Did you do the graft in the center? How big did it turn out? There's just something about this pattern that makes me drool every time I see it.

Oh Rachel, it's so beautiful!!! I love the symbolism of 'baptism' as expressed in art. Can't wait to see the second one, and maybe you can take a picture of them together?

Way to go, girl!

You amaze me! I know you are busy in school, wrapping up the semester I'd guess, and you just make the most amazing pieces. Very pretty.

05-19-2008, 12:26 AM
I hate to brag on myself but : I knit a good portion of this shawl during finals week, and I had a 4.0 semester :) Yay! That's two straight A semesters in a row, so I've pretty much only gotten A as final grades since I've been a knitter. I was afraid it takes up too much time, but I think it improves my ability to focus as prioritize :) Hurray!

Your stole is absolutely stunning...you are a fearless knitter!

Are you taking a break this summer, from School?

I love the names you've given the shawls...totally cool!
Take Care,

Way to go! I wish I had the talent to tackle such a project!

Oh well, some of us are lace knitters, some of us are sock knitters, some of us are Colorwork/Fair Isle knitters....etc....some of us are designers, some of us are followers!

This is what makes the WHATCHA KNITTING section so interesting!

Your project made my day!

Rachel!! The shawl is absolutley BEAUTIFUL!!:inlove: :inlove: I haven't been on this part of KH for a while, so I'm glad now I had a few minutes to look around. Glad to see that you are doing lace knitting and that school is going awesome for you! :woot:

Take care and have a great summer! :)

Ahh, I'm considering giving this away to my amazing friend. But it would be so hard to part with!

This is simply beautiful and exactly what I was looking for ... my bff is a double-lung transplant survivor, and even warm summer breezes give her a chill. This pattern is my excuse for my very first trip to my LYS later this afternoon!

Thank you also to Ingrid for sharing the link!
