HI all. Well, here's the story: I need to go to Florida for 4 nights to see my M-I-L who had a bad fall and is recuperating (shes 94). My husband really wants me to come with him but our usual cat friend is busy. We live on the upper west side of Manhattan in a sweet apartment and I have 2 cats, one is my follow-me-every where baby who needs extra love. Its a great neighborhood. I want someone to sleep over with them and feed them 3 times a day. (yeah I spoil them)
This would be over the 4th of July, Wed through Sun would be best but I could work around something else if necessary, like Sun - Wed or whatever. Ideally I would return with DH on Sunday. 4 nights is best. So, I'm looking for someone honest and reliable who would like to visit the city (I'm around the corner from Knitty City and down the street from The Yarn Company). Thought I'd give it a go here just in case.... There would be a small amount of money involved (for you). Ok!

I really wish I could! I would love to visit Yankee Stadium before its gone. I hope you find someone to take care of your "babies". I totally understand. Mine are both spoiled rotten, but I love them.

Whoa! I might be interested. New York is on my list of places to visit before I die. And, cats are my favorite people.

Is it going to be super hot and humid in July?

Thanks all for your good wishes! I hate leaving my babies! Well, that cat specialist I visited once for prices and they are just so expensive it's amazing. I have a vet upstate in the country that charges 1/4th the price of Manhattan vets. It's funny, there are people across the street and around the corner at 2 hotels that are paying $300 and up per night for a tiny room!

Well, weather wise it's been pretty nice so far but it changes all the time and can be humid within the hour. We have 2 airconditioners though. (the last time I had a lady in my building take care of my cats she put the airconditioners on high and left the windows wide open duh) Where are you Susan?

I'm in California, but I am looking at this as the perfect opportunity to see New York! Can your place sleep two? I am scouring my list of friends to come up with a travel partner. I'm serious. I wonder how much the airfare will be a this late minute. I will have to arrange for the time off work. Are you serious? I can stay in your Manhattan apartment in exchange for feeding your furry children?

OMG! I am so excited I can hardly breathe! My daughter wants to go with me! We love to roam around together! I am looking at the days you want, July 2-6. Correct? You are coming home on Monday?

Okay. My sister and I are in! She has three cats and I have two--we are cat EXPERTS. You won't have a care in the world while you are gone. I will schedule the days off from work today and am looking for airfare. Are you serious?

ooooooh! I hope this works out for you guys! Me and DH went to new york city and only stayed for one night, but had sooooo much fun! To be able to stay at someone's apt and not a hotel sounds great! And as a bonus you get to play with their kitties!:woohoo:

I know the vets in NYC are expensive but sometimes in an emergency those of us who are city bound dont have much of a choice. One of those vets saved my Maggies life and I so I guess I cant complain too much!

If I was closer I would totally do it, too. I love NYC. We went and stayed with my daughter in her mid-town apt. Hope it works out for you two!
