Wonderful Wallaby sleeves?

I am very close to finishing my first sleeve on the Wallaby for
my granddaughter. It's a size 10 Washington Wallaby and have
a question regarding the sleeve length. The pattern says to do
the ribbing for 3" then do the increases then work even in ST st
till the sleeve measures 13". In other parts of the pattern it says to
measure from the beginning and here it does not say that so I'm
a little confused as to what the length of the sleeve should be?
Thirteen inches including the ribbing or 13" after the ribbing? Can
someone who has made this answer this for me?

I haven't made it and I'm not familiar with what the pattern looks like - but I would say they mean 13" from the beginning edge.

I don't know, but I'm going to make that pattern sometime after christmas! I hope you'll post your FO when you're done. Other than the sleeve issue, is it a good pattern so far?

I haven't actually made this, but my DM made it for my DD in a 4/5t. I just measured my 10yr-old son's armpit (about an inch to an inch and a half below his armpit) to wrist just above hand and it is exactly 13 inches. I would say they mean including the ribbing.

If it were me, I'd try to have someone measure the recipient for me if possible, and then knit to that length, possibly adding a bit, say a half inch or so, up to an inch extra, to allow extra room for growth.

I have made a few and I measured from the beginning edge.

I too have made a couple and the measurement is from the edge. But I also try to measure the wrist to underarm, it will make for a bettter fit.
