Ok, I finished the first baby bootie. Is it too terrible?

Looks great. I hope you don't get second bootie syndrome.

I think it looks great!!! Maybe you can get a truck shaped button and sew it in the front of the bootie?

It's adorable!

I can only think that every time they put them on her they'll think "Our friend, Mason the trucker, knit these for her." That's very cool.

It came out really cute! :yay: The only suggestion I have is to make the top ribbing longer and maybe use a smaller needle so it would be tighter. Babies have a way of kicking those suckers off. ;)

Also.. please do not use buttons. Babies put their feet in their mouths and you wouldn't want her to choke.

You did a good job. Looks like a bootie to me. Your mom gave you a nice shade of pink.

It does look a little wide across the cuff. Jan is so right about booties getting kicked off; her suggestion of a smaller needle would help that a bit. I'm not a great fan of ribbons around the ankles but I put them on my recent booties and mitts because they help hold them on. I think you can add them even if you didn't make eyelets for them to go through, just run them between stitches. Just an idea.

Did you get all that written down so you can make another one to match? That is the hard part about designing things that come in pairs.

Those little booties will be perfect for the child your trucker friends are having. You do great work. My grandson is amazed that you knit.

Looks really good, Mason. You are giving me the motivation to begin a baby layette for the great-grandchild-to-be expected sometime early April. As yet, they don't know if it will be a girl or boy, so will wait. The thought of making booties really spooked me, but will try and live up to your standards. Congrats on the first one.

It's very cute! I like your design with the ribbed cuff and garter stitch sole. I hope you'll share it when you're done.

Looks great!

May need a little itty bitty ribbon tie around the ankle...or a little itty bitty i-cord tie?

As usual I didn't use a pattern. I did get some tips for shaping the toe from Yarn Thrower's pattern. Her pattern creates a bootie that is similar to mine so you may want to have a look at it.
