Hot Spots

My Shih Tzu has a hot spot under her chin.
Can I treat this at home or should I take her to the Vet.
I've seen lots of home remedies online.
Does anyone have any advice.
I'm leaving work early today because I'm worried. Thanks

I would say if she has seen the vet before for them and you still have the meds, make a quick call to vet and ask him if you can still use it. If your dog has never been seen, I would call and see what they say, more than likely they will want to see him to give them right meds for it. I know, never any fun to take a dog into the vet (my dog is a 75 lb bunch of happy) but if she has never been seen for it, I think that is the best way to go.
