I've decided to make a bathroom rug, using two strands of cotton yarn throughout. It will be warm, soft and cushy on our cold tile floor this winter. :)

Here's the pattern I made up for it:
Tiled Bathroom Rug
Holding together two strands of worsted weight cotton yarn throughout, cast on 79 stitches with size 10 (US) knitting needles.
Knit 9 rows in garter stitch, then start the "Tile Stitch" pattern.
Tile Stitch
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: K5, *P4, K1*
(repeat between asterisks to the last 4 stitches), K4
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: K5 *P4, K1*
(repeat between asterisks to the last 4 stitches), K4
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: K5 *P4, K1*
(repeat between asterisks to the last 4 stitches), K4
Row 7: Knit
Row 8: Knit
Repeat Tile Stitch pattern til rug is long enough.
Knit 9 rows, Bind off loosely.
