Hi all - I can't decide which scarf pattern to use to knit a scarf for my MIL, so I was hoping to hear your opinions. She wants a scarf to go with a maroon coat, so I chose this yarn (colorway 10):

I have three patterns I'm trying to choose from. I'm posting the link to each pattern (if it's online) and pictures of a test swatch which I knitted. I knitted each of them on size 13 needles.
1. Reversible Plaited Scarf (from Ravelry)

2. Misty chunky ribs and ruffles scarf (I added an extra repeat of this so the scarf would be wider) http://www.mistialpaca.com/downloads/ribs_ruffles_scarf.pdf

3. Villandry Lace Scarf

Anyways, I just can't decide which pattern shows off the colors of the yarn and is unique but still appropriate for an adult woman. Any and all comments and opinions are appreciated.
