I want to make some baby caps using up my odd balls of fingering weight yarn and all the patterns I have seem to be for heavier weight. The tension for the yarn I have is about 28-32 sts per 4inches on a size 2.75-3mm needle.
Does anyone know of a nice pattern I could use?

Well, you could take a pattern that has 14-16 sts per 4" and double the number of stitches and rows.

Sues idea of making your own basic hat works, but here's some patterns, too.

If you don't want ears, but like the hat you can leave them off.

My quilt guild knits caps for the neonatal unit at our local hospitals. I have a very simple pattern if you would like it. Just send me your email address and I will send it to you
