This was a really fun pattern to knit and if anyone is interested in trying out lace, I think it would be a great beginner pattern.
As an added bonus, I used some leftover yarn from a sweater I made. Stashbusting = good!

Yours looks great! I knit it also in a worsted weight yarn and not lace and i think this scarf looks great in heavier weight than required.

Marria, that is very pretty yarn and the scarf turned out great. i've made 2 scarfs using this pattern--the first one took a long time, as i had to keep 'frogging' it, then got a *light bulb* moment and used a lifeline!! linknit41

I just started this scarf, this afternoon. Not only will it be my first lace pattern, but I have decided to try and knit it using the chart, the written pattern can always be my safety net.

Hi Squeakee--I used the chart, but I prefer charts. I find I get lost much less often when I am using them over written instructions.
A tip, if you haven't used charts before--get some of the wide PostIts and put one under the row you are on in the chart, so you don't get mixed up. Or you can buy one of these:

Wonderful work, Marria! Branching Out is my all time favorite scarf pattern! It is so distinct, and classy! And lightweight. Not a neck-strangling thing! Light and yet warm at the same time!
