i had asked for some advice regarding the antennae on this sweater, so i thought people might like to see how everything turned out! the pattern is baby hoodie at lion brand (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/70027.html), and i just improvised the circles on the back and the antennae on the hood.

you can see more photos here on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/illyanadmc/sets/72157605821577271/). i sent it to a friend for her six month-old daughter, and she loves it! i think it turned out pretty cute, even if the antennae are a bit floppy :)

Hey, I like the way this little sweater turned out. That will be so cute on a little guy or gal. Are the spots intarsia? They look great. You definintely needed the antennae. So cute.

the spots are not intarsia. when i started on the sweater, i wasn't sure how many spots i wanted to make, or where i wanted to place them (or even how large i wanted to make them). so i decided to just do the whole sweater in red and then improvise a circle and figure it all out from there. the first circle i made was a pretty good size, so i made a few more and then decided on the placement - i just sewed them on as best i could! if you go to the flickr link in my first post, you can see a photo of the inside of the sweater, which shows that i sewed on the spots.

Margaret, where are you in RI??!! I haven't been on KH for awhile, so busy at work, so this is the first time I have seen you on here, from RI!!
I live in Newport. Do you go to any LYS's in RI?

oh this is too cute! I remember when my first granddaughter was a ladybug for her first Holloween, this would have been a great sweater for her to wear on that chilly night!
Great job!

I just realized you are from Providence! I live in Newport! Do you go to any of the LYS's and if so which ones do you like the best? I get up there sometimes for work and would like to find one that I could go to on my lunch hour!!
Thanks,
Jen

The sweater is so adorable and the pictures of the baby in it are great. You will have them long after she grows out of it which makes it all worth it.
