I've made several pairs of handknit socks, but only have two pair of my own. And one of them is starting to wear away. So, I've decided to knit a pair of worsted weight socks to wear around the house.
I'm using Lion Wool yarn that I got on sale at Hobby Lobby for a few dollars a skein. Great deal! :)
I'm almost finished with the first sock:

I did a stockinette heel instead, because it feels more comfortable to me with my wide feet. I also switched to stockinette for part of the leg as well. Same reason - comfort.

The great thing about worsted weight socks, they take no time at all to knit up. ;) The color is lovely also!

You really should try it, Dollyce. After you turn the first heel, you'll be grinning like a little girl. They are REALLY FUN to make!

How many stitches do you cast on for that weight of yarn Sandy? I've been thinking about making some too from LB worsted. Your sock looks great BTW.

I cast on 44 stitches, using the instructions for size Large. I have wide feet, so I think it will work well for me. :)

They look great! Thanks for posting the pattern. I've always wanted to do socks but would rather start off with something worsted wt.

I think the sock looks great and I love the colour as well.
Thanks for the pattern. I've bookmarked it. I'm thinking it's time I tried something other than Silver's Sock Class socks... indebted to her as I am...:teehee:

That colour is not one that I have ever knitted or worn, but just the last few months I have been drawn more and more to it. Your socks look lovely!
