View Full Version : my first knitted project

I have finished my very first knitted project (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3571/3392851890_e12d6acb2a.jpg?v=0) :woot: It is no where near perfect. I think I did fine on the right bootie, but for some reason I had to start over six times on the left bootie. I just coudn't get it going or either I would get close to the end and mess up really badly. You can see a mistake I have pointed out in the picture. It is below the word mistake. I had the most trouble with my yarn splitting. I was using sport weight yarn and 3mm needles. Maybe I started with too small a yarn and needles for a beginner? Anyway, I am so excited that they even look like booties. I just wanted to share.

I think you did a great job! My first knitted project was a scarf; you're much more brave.

Great job for a first project. They look really good. You don't want to see my first knitting project. I am told it was supposed to be a scarf but it looks like a floor mop rag to me!!! Way to go!

Can't wait to see what you make next!

Are those Saartje's booties (sorry if the spelling's wrong!)? They're adorable! And I love the colour, pink's my favourite. Good job!

Little baby Mary-Janes....too cute!

You're first knitted project was not only more ambitious than my first one but your end result is FAR more stunning than mine was. I'm SERIOUS! You are a born knitter. These are absolutely precious and mistake or not, ANY baby would be so lucky to adorn these little beauties. WTG!!!

Thats a very pretty color of yarn, and it even has a bit of sheen to it! I suspect it must have been very slippery on size 3 needles. But look at it this way, since you started out on tiny stuff, anything you knit later on "normal" size needles will be super easy. And the mistake is hardly noticable.
