On March 17th my daughter was diagnosed with 2 kinds of Leukemia. She has CML (chronic) in her blood and ALL (Acute) in her bone marrow. At first they thought it was AML in her bone marrown and then soon discovered that it is ALL. She is 34 years old. She had her first round of chemo last week. She will do chemo again tomorrow. On Wednesday she will have another bone marrow biopsy and hopefully it will be in remission. Please pray that it is in remission and then she can start the next phase which is a bone marrow transplant and then hopefully we will be done with it.

Hang in there and I'll be keeping you both in my thoughts & prayers.

ETA- I would encourage everyone to go to www.marrow.org & see about registering as a marrow donor. I was selected for the 2nd round of screening for a 27 yr old man with ALL- but I didn't end up matching him closely enough. If they call me again- I will be a perfect match.

My brother was diagnosed with Myleodysplastic Syndrome a couple of years ago, they ended up finding him a 10 out of 10 blood donor match. He is back to work and so far, his numbers are, if not normal, very close to it. I will pray that your daughter gets the same!

I am so sorry, mama. My DD was dx last year (she's 9 and has Down syndrome). It's a rough road, but I'll be praying for her.

You may want to check out acor.org for a chat site for support and info (she may want to as well........)

Hugs and prayers.

Hang in there! My thoughts go out to you and your daughter.I am so sorry your family is going through this.

ETA - I looked up Leukemia online and I was very happy to see that the types that you say your daughter has have some of the highest recovery and life expectancy rates. I will be praying that she finds a perfect donor match :^)

Thank you for looking it up and passing this information to me. At first I tried to look it up but I would read things that I didn't like and it scared me to death.

Today my daughter Dawn goes in for a biopsy. Hopefully the cancer is in remission!! I have been praying daily and I know that you all are praying for us so I'm being very positive and know that it will be in remission. I'm actually going for gone but I think that might take a while longer. But who knows, the power of prayer.....

Thank you all so much.

My daughter is in remission!!! :yay: The Dr. told her not to count on it because she only had a 20% chance of being in remission. But she is. Now she only has to have chemo once a month until she has the bone marrow transplant.
